Online dating is frustrating

I've been on and off of here many times over the years and met some nice women. I had a great summer with a beautiful 27 year old woman that I did not meet online, through mutual friends years ago. It was an incredible whirlwind relationship for a few months, but that is over and here I am single again.
I don't like these online dating sites, they actually make you feel worse for trying. You message and no replies, or if they do respond, they're only playing games. Then there's the locality issue, you live in a rural area and not many local profiles and if there are, who knows if they're fake or not.
Seems like everyone is looking for the same thing, yet something different. It's just frustrating when all you want to do is meet someone you like and have a little fun and see where it goes from there.
That's the end of my rant. lol

Shouldn't this site be more of a community than anything else?

We're all here for one reason or another, to find a partner, to fulfill a fantasy, to explore our deepest desires or just to communicate with like minded people. What I mostly find is that it's not that easy to communicate with others. Emails go unreplied, Instant messages go unanswered or ignored or someone that you are communicating with no longer responds to your messages. Yes, I understand that not everyone is interested in a certain individual, like myself, I ignore messages from other guys flirting with me, I'm just not into guys. But, wouldn't it be so much nicer if everyone could get on here and say, Hello! Ask how someone's day is going, take a little interest in the daily events of someone's day and take a little time to get to know someone, if even just to say, Hi. We could make this the adult time facebook without the politics, religion or drama...lol. A place were friends in your friends list actually communicate back and forth instead of just seeing how many friends you can acquire. After all, we all have one thing in common...we're all here because we like a little naughtiness in our lives.
