I saw a video of a bridge like that twisting and swaying like crazy during a hurricane ( or earthquake ). . That's some scary stuff!

Interesting stuff Bob.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Och McShere, fascinating stuff, I do enjoy a good bit of bridgery.

Main long term with the GG bridge is the corrosion of the wires in the main cables, but they seem to be on top of it. It has been the model for many a bridge since its construction - our own Forth Road Bridge being a good example. Designers remain nervous though of using untested technologies in infrastructure projects of this scale. We're building a new crossing over the river Forth, beside the Road bridge, shoogle it, ye'll enjoy the commentary on it.

Thoroughly enjoyed the read, thankyou for sharing!

How many times has it been destroyed in sci fi movies? And yet they keep rebuilding it the same way.

Please don't let me be misunderstood.
